
The anticipation of the ICC One Day World Cup, which will be played in India from October 5, has come to an end for cricket fans. ICC has announced the ODI World Cup 2023 schedule. The tournament will be played in India from October 5 to November 19. The first match will be played between England and New Zealand. Both these teams played against each other in the final of the 2019 World Cup. Both these teams will play the first match of the tournament on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Along with this, India's first match will be played against Australia on October 8 at Chennai. India will face Pakistan on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
A total of 10 countries will participate in this World Cup
A total of 10 teams will participate in this World Cup. Eight teams have already qualified for the tournament and the remaining two places are being played with the qualifier rounds in Zimbabwe, with six teams making it to the Super Six. Two of these teams will participate in the main round of the World Cup to be held in India. Currently, the West Indies team, who won the first two World Cups, is on the verge of exiting this World Cup. Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe have the highest chances of playing in the main round. The remaining two teams to participate in the World Cup will also be decided on July 9. Now only 100 days are left for the start of the World Cup.

World Cup matches will be played on 12 grounds
In this World Cup, all the teams will play against nine other teams in a round robin format. The top four teams in the points table will qualify for the semi-finals and the winning teams will compete in the finals. All the matches of the ODI World Cup will be played at 12 grounds in India.

A blow to Pakistan
BCCI and ICC have given a big blow to Pakistan. Pakistan demanded to shift the match with Afghanistan to be held in Chennai. Pakistan didn't even want to play against Australia in Bangalore. But in these two arenas, Pakistan will have to play against Afghanistan and Australia.
The World Cup trophy was unveiled yesterday
Earlier yesterday, the ICC Men's ODI World Cup trophy was unveiled at Space. The trophy was launched into space at an altitude of 1,20,000 feet above the ground and unveiled there. Later, the trophy was brought down at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. BCCI Secretary Jai Shah shared a video of this on social media.

Speaking at the launch of the trophy tour, ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardyce said, “The ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour is an important event in the countdown to the biggest cricket World Cup ever. Cricket has over a billion fans and we want to give as many people as possible a chance to get closer to this famous trophy. The trophy tour will begin in India today and will travel around the world before bringing the trophy back to the host country on September 4.
