The third and final ODI was played between the Indian women's cricket team and the Bangladesh women's cricket team on Saturday. This final ODI match was tied. Indian women's team captain Harmanpreet Kaur was angry with the umpire's decision in this match. The umpire declared him LBW out. After that he hit the stump hard with the bat. BCCI has come into action mode on this act of Harmanpreet.
The umpire declared LBW out
The Indian women's captain could face a two-match ban for damaging playing equipment and criticizing umpires, which could mean she misses the opening matches of the Asian Games. Harmanpreet was dismissed LBW off Nahida Akhtar but claimed the ball hit the bottom of her bat. He vented his anger on the stumps before returning to the pavilion.
Criticized the umpires at the post-match presentation ceremony
He then criticized the umpires at the post-match presentation ceremony and also said that the umpires should attend the trophy ceremony with both teams. Due to his rude behaviour, Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana walked out with his team and advised the Indian captain to learn manners.
Accused of damaging sports equipment and criticizing officials
BCCI sources said, "Harmanpreet is accused of damaging playing equipment and criticizing match officials and there is a debate over whether to add three or four demerit points to his account. If four demerit points are received within 24 months, the player could be out of one Test or two limited-overs matches, in which case he could be out of two matches in the Asian Games."
