Rain interrupts third day of Trinidad Test, West Indies trail by 209 runs

The second match of the two-Test series between India and West Indies is slowly moving towards a draw. The third day's play was completely affected by the rain. By the end of the third day's play, West Indies had scored 229 for the loss of five wickets in their first innings. Currently, Alec Athanaje and Jason Holder are unbeaten. The West Indies team is currently 209 runs behind India. India scored 438 runs in the first innings. The Indian team won the first test by an innings and 141 runs.

On the fourth day, the match will start half an hour earlier

Only 67 overs could be played on the third day. 143 runs were scored and four wickets fell. Lunch was also taken half an hour earlier due to rain. To make up for it, the game will start half an hour earlier today.

Braithwaite's captain's innings

West Indies got their first blow on Friday in the form of Tejanarayan Chandrapaul. He was able to score 33 runs. He shared an opening partnership of 71 runs with captain Craig Braithwaite. On the third day, West Indies started playing ahead of 86 runs for one wicket. Braithwaite shared a 48-run partnership with Kirk McKenzie for the second wicket. Mukesh broke the partnership by dismissing McKenzie. This was Mukesh's first international wicket. Braithwaite scored the 29th fifty of his Test career in 170 balls playing the captain's innings.

Ashwin bowls Braithwaite

Braithwaite then shared a 40-run partnership with Jermaine Blackwood for the third wicket. Ashwin clean bowled Brathwaite. He scored 75 runs off 235 balls with the help of five fours and one six. Siraj clean bowled Joshua D'Silva. Currently, Athanaj is unbeaten with 37 runs and Jason Holder with 11 runs. Ravindra Jadeja has taken two wickets for India so far. While Siraj, Ashwin and Mukesh got one wicket each.
