The Indian team wears a black arm band in memory of veteran spinner Bishan Singh Bedi. Former veteran Indian team spinner Bishan Singh Bedi passed away recently. In his honor, the Indian players took to the field with black armbands tied on their hands. After the toss, BCCI informed about this on X and wrote, 'In the match against England in the ICC Mens Cricket World Cup 2023, Team India will enter the field wearing a black armband in memory of the great Bishan Singh Bedi.'
