India vs England Test Team : India and England will play a 5-match Test series from January 25. BCCI has announced the Indian Test squad for the first 2 matches of this series against England. Young players have been given a chance in the Indian team under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.
Shami and Ishaan did not get a place in the team
Fast bowler Mohammad Shami and wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan are not part of the 17-man squad for the first Test against England. The first two Test matches will be played in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam respectively. Shami is out of the squad due to a leg injury, while Kishan has asked to rest. Meanwhile, young wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurrell has got his first chance for the series starting on January 25. Rohit Sharma will lead the team while star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been made the vice-captain.

BCCI said in a statement, "The Men's Selection Committee has announced the Indian squad for the first two Tests against England. India are scheduled to play a 5-match Test series, the first of which will be played in Hyderabad from January 25, 2024. Also included in the squad is fast bowler Awesh Khan, who was part of the group for the second and final Test against South Africa earlier this month.
