Ben Foakes Failed Attempt At Stumping To Jasprit Bumrah : England beat India by 28 runs in the Hyderabad Test and took a 1-0 lead in the 5-match Test series. The whole world is praising the way the England team came back in the match after being behind in the first two days. But towards the end of the match, the English team did something that could have created a huge controversy. However England could not succeed in this objective. This act was done by England wicketkeeper Ben Fox. If Fox had been successful in this ploy, the 'Spirit of Cricket' would once again have been the talk of the cricketing world and fans would have remembered Alex Carey's feat against England in Ashes 2023.
Fox deceptively tries to stump Bumrah out
England dismissed the top-7 batsmen of the Indian team while defending the target of 231 runs, but the England team had to work hard for the last three wickets. First the pair of Ashwin and Bharat and then the pair of Siraj and Bumrah troubled the England team. During the 66th over of the Indian innings, when England were one wicket away from victory, Ben Fox deceptively tried to stump Bumrah out. Bumrah looked to hit a pull shot off Tom Hartley, but missed. The ball went straight into Ben Fox's gloves and he waited for Bumrah to leave the crease.
Bumrah jumped in the air without hitting the shot
Bumrah didn't leave the crease, but was thrown into the air, frustrated by the non-hitting shot. Just seizing the opportunity, Fox blew the bails and started appealing to the leg umpire for stumping. However, Bumrah was back on the ground before Focus flew the stumps. So Bumrah was not given out. But if Bumrah had not come to the crease in time, it might have become a moot point.
