Bangladesh won by 546 runs against Afghanistan in the only Test match played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. With this win, the Bangladesh team created history. This is the biggest win in Test cricket in the 21st century. Bangladesh scored 382 runs in their first innings. In response, the Afghanistan team was bundled out for 146 runs. After this, Bangladesh declared the innings by scoring 425 for 4 in the second innings and bowled out Afghanistan for just 115 runs. In this way, Bangladesh registered a huge victory of 546 runs. This is the third biggest win in the history of Test cricket.
Najmul Hussain Shanto scored a brilliant century
Both batsmen and bowlers of Bangladesh performed brilliantly in the Test match played against Afghanistan. In the first innings, opener Mahmudal Hasan scored 76 runs and number three batsman Najmul Hussain Shanto scored a brilliant century of 146 runs. Apart from this, Mushfiqur Rahim scored 47 runs and Mehndi Hasan Miraj scored 48 runs. After this fast bowler Ibadat Hussain took four wickets in bowling. On the other hand, Taijul Islam, Mehndi Hasan Miraj and Shoriful Islam got two wickets each.
Najmul Hussain Shanto got the player of the match award
In the second innings for Bangladesh, Najmul Hussain Shanto once again scored a century. This time Shanto scored 124 runs. He also won the player of the match award for scoring centuries in both innings. Apart from this, Mominul Haque scored 121 runs. Apart from this, opener Zakir Hasan scored 71 and captain Liton Das scored 66 not out. In bowling, Taskin Ahmed took four wickets and Shoriful Islam three wickets. Ibadat Hussain and Mehndi Hasan Miraj got one wicket each.
Bangladesh made history
Bangladesh now has the third biggest win in terms of runs in Test cricket. England is number one and Australia is number two in this record list. In 1928, England won by 675 runs. Apart from this, in the year 1934, Australia won by 562 runs.
